And the continuity of our science has not been affected by all these turbulent happenings, as the older theories have always been included as limiting cases in the new ones.
CALL FOR PAPERS
Continuity and change are two concepts indispensably
concomitant with any academic research or endeavor and positively
stretch across a wide array of disciplines. The aim of our conference,
however, is to deal with continuity and change in the sphere of
humanities and to relate them specifically to the studies of the English
language and English cultures and literatures.
In keeping with the
theme of the conference, individual paper proposals may be generally
related to the following research areas:
- teaching English as a foreign language
- literary and cultural studies
- linguistics
Please note that the 20-minute presentations should be delivered in the English language.
Please submit 300-word abstracts online by Monday, 16th April, 2012 along with the attached form providing us with your full name, your academic title or degree, your professional affiliation, email address, phone number, AV requirements and a short biographical note. Please email the documents before the submission deadline to: jszurman@wszop.edu.pl
The conference fee is 150 PLN and is paid to the following bank account:
39 1140 1078 0000 4048 1400 1004. Please mention the title of the conference: Continuity and change in the English language and culture.
The fee includes conference materials and catering.
The deadline for the submission of conference papers for review and publication is 31st July, 2012.
Selected papers will be published in the monograph prior to review.
The papers should be 7000 - 8000 words in length including references and appendices.
The conference will be held on 8th June, 2012 in Wyższa Szkoła Zarządzania Ochrona Pracy, ul. Bankowa 8, 40-007 Katowice.
The conference opening will be at 10.00 a.m.
